KATHMANDU: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) on Sunday published the asset declarations of Prime Minister Balendra Shah and members of the Council of Ministers, the office said in a press statement.
The disclosures were released following a cabinet decision and are available on the OPMCM website. The published records include details on immovable property, movable assets, bank balances and liabilities for the Prime Minister and all ministers.
According to the details posted on the OPMCM page, Prime Minister Balendra Shah declared a bank balance of Rs 14.6 million. The disclosure lists his main source of income as social media platforms, noting roughly 4 million followers on Facebook, 1.2 million on YouTube and 500,000 on X/Twitter.
The statement also records assets held by family members. Shah’s wife, Sabina Kafle, is reported to own 190 tolas of gold, silver and diamond jewellery, declared as ancestral or family property.
Family immovable property listed in the declaration includes 1.2 bighas of land in Dhanusha district registered in the name of Dhruva Devi Shah, nine bighas in Mahottari district registered in the name of Ram Narayan Shah, and five annas of land in Kathmandu registered in the name of Dhruva Devi Shah.
The OPMCM said the full, official declarations for the Prime Minister and all ministers, with more detailed breakdowns of assets and liabilities, can be accessed on its website.
