KATHMANDU: One hundred and ninety‑three office‑bearers under the Ministry of Health and Population have been removed from their posts, the ministry said on Tuesday.
A press statement by MoHP joint spokesperson, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, said the removals were made under Clause 2(1) of the Ordinance to Make Special Provisions Regarding the Removal of Public Officials, 2083 BS. President Ramchandra Paudel issued the ordinance on May 2.
Dr Adhikari said letters are being sent to notify the affected office‑bearers. “As per the ordinance, that number of office‑bearers of academies, committees and boards under the ministry have been relieved of their posts. We have been sending letters to such office‑bearers,” he said.
Those relieved include office‑bearers from the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Patan Academy of Health Sciences, BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Health Insurance Board, Nepal Health Research Council, Nepal Medical Council and Nepal Health Professional Council.
