KATHMANDU: Domestic bullion rates rose on Thursday as the price of gold climbed to Rs 298,600 per tola and silver advanced to Rs 5,155 per tola.
Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FENEGOSIDA) said the gains followed a week of sharp swings. On Wednesday, gold traded at Rs 296,800 per tola and silver at Rs 5,055 per tola. On Tuesday, gold dipped to Rs 291,000 per tola and silver to Rs 4,880 per tola. Monday opened stronger, with gold at Rs 294,800 per tola and silver at Rs 5,030 per tola.
The recent movements reflected heightened volatility in bullion trading over the past three sessions, driven by shifting demand and broader market signals.
On the international front, global spot prices remained elevated, with gold trading at about $4,702.70 per ounce and silver near $77.71 per ounce.
The sustained international levels have kept precious metals in focus for investors seeking safe-haven assets.
