KATHMANDU: Geeta Pariwar Nepal, in partnership with CG Group, hosted Geeta Maitri Milan in Kathmandu today to promote spiritual learning, moral values and Nepal’s cultural heritage through the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.

The programme began at 9:00 am at Nepal Pragya Pratishthan in Kamaladi and drew around 1,300 participants. It is being organised under the slogan 'Let’s read, teach and apply the Gita in life.'

According to the organisers, Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj, treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Ayodhya, attended the event.

Geeta Pariwar Nepal was established during the Covid19 pandemic in 2020 with five volunteers and has since expanded to more than 500 volunteers and over 15,000 members across Nepal.

The group conducts free Bhagavad Gita training through online and offline platforms, holds daily Zoom classes, runs children’s culture programmes and leads spiritual activities including Vishnu Sahasranama recitations and Ram Raksha Stotra sessions.

Organisers said the campaign aims to spread Gita consciousness across villages, settlements and cities throughout Nepal.
