Govt incorporates constitution amendment into budget: Prez Paudel

KATHMANDU: The government has incorporated an amendment to the constitution into the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27. 

President Ramchandra Paudel announced that it will prepare a discussion paper to guide the amendment process during a joint session of the federal parliament while releasing the government's policies and programmes.

The incumbent government formed a taskforce to prepare the discussion paper. The body is being coordinated by Asim Shah, Political Advisor to Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

The taskforce is currently collecting suggestions from various political parties and professionals across different sectors.
