KATHMANDU: Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Chief Commissioner Prem Kumar Rai met representatives of the Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) on Wednesday. The meeting took place at the CIAA office in Kathmandu.
The session was attended by APG delegation chief David Shannon and other officials. According to a press statement issued by CIAA spokesperson Suresh Neupane, discussions focused on the steps Nepal has taken to exit the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.
David Shannon urged Nepal to concentrate on reforms in critical areas to achieve further compliance, to complete the national risk assessment as soon as possible, and to implement firmly the action plan revised by the International Cooperation Review Group, the statement said.
Chief Commissioner Rai expressed gratitude to the APG for its assistance in Nepal’s efforts to leave the FATF grey list, the CIAA statement added.
The APG team conducted a support visit to Nepal from May 18 to 20, 2026.
