POKHARA: British Professional College (BPC), a Platinum Status ACCA provider under the British Education Group, and ACCA held the 'Accounting Educators Workshop on IFRS and NFRS' at the Pokhara Event Centre on June 6.
The workshop was attended by more than 200 accountancy and finance educators from over 150 schools and colleges.
The event aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS) and to raise the standard of accounting education across the region.
Sessions were led by Bikrant Acharya, FCCA, who offered practical insights on current accounting practices, financial reporting standards and emerging industry trends.
Speaking at the event, Dipendra K Shrestha, Head of Professional Education at British Education Group, said, “The enthusiastic participation of educators reflects the growing commitment towards enhancing the quality of accounting education in Nepal. We are proud to collaborate with ACCA in providing meaningful professional development opportunities for educators.”
Arun Kumar Kandel, Country Director of Kandel Group, highlighted the need for ongoing professional development in the sector. “As the accounting and finance profession continues to evolve globally, it is essential that educators remain updated with international and national reporting standards. Initiatives such as this workshop play a vital role in strengthening the quality of accounting education and preparing future professionals to meet global industry expectations,” he said.
The college said the workshop also provided a valuable networking platform, encouraging knowledge sharing and collaboration among educators from across the Gandaki region.
BPC, which has campuses in Kathmandu and Pokhara, offers ACCA and other professional accountancy education and continues to run industry-focused learning initiatives for educators and students.
