BUTWAL: The Lions Club of Devdaha, together with Lumbini Tech Innovation Center, is holding a one-day 'Basic AI Training' for young people today at Ramjanaki Stadium in Omsatiya-6, Narayanpur in Rupandehi district.

The event forms part of Lions International District 325 P, Nepal’s "Global Cause: Youth" programme for the Lions Year 2025–2026 and aims to boost digital literacy and introduce beginners to fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence. Organisers say the training will help participants use technology effectively and access available digital resources.

Lumbini Tech Innovation Center is the technical partner and has been running AI programmes and providing digital tools for newcomers. The session will cover basic AI principles and practical applications tailored for students, teachers and technology-minded youth.

A featured presentation will be given by Krishna Sapkota, founder and director of Lumbini Tech Innovation Center, on the practical use of AI and the "AI-Learners" platform. Organisers say "AI-Learners" is designed to support students with disabilities by teaching early maths, literacy and social skills through customised games and analytics.

The training is organised under the Lions spirit of service, using the mottos "Lead To Serve-Serve To Lead" and "Happy Hearts-Helping Hands." Organisers said the programme is intended as an entry point for young people who want to begin their digital journey and explore new opportunities in technology.
