KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank has launched the 'Global IME Udhyamshala' programme and opened applications for entrepreneurs and individuals with innovative ideas across Nepal.
The announcement was made at an event at the bank’s head office in Kamaladi, Kathmandu, to mark World Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day 2026. The programme aims to develop entrepreneurship and support the sustainability and reputation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
The bank's CEO, Surendra Raj Regmi, formally unveiled the initiative and confirmed that applications are now being accepted. He said, "The bank has prepared this platform to address the common challenges faced by micro, small, and medium-sized entrepreneurs. Practical knowledge and problem-solving solutions will be provided to the participants through subject experts in the related fields, experienced entrepreneurs, and trainers."
Global IME Bank said the programme will operate in two main streams: incubation and acceleration. The incubation stream targets young people with new and innovative business ideas who need guidance on starting their ventures, offering capacity building, business network expansion and mentorship. The acceleration stream is aimed at existing entrepreneurs seeking help with business expansion or upgrading, with support in capacity development, adoption of modern technology, marketing and access to stakeholder bodies.
The bank expects participants to gain practical knowledge on business registration, tax and legal procedures, market study, production processes, financial management and access to banks and financial institutions.
The Deputy CEO, senior managers, representatives of partner organisations and members of the media attended the inauguration ceremony.
