KATHMANDU: Motorola, in collaboration with the Chaudhary Group, launched the Edge 70 Fusion smartphone in Nepal. The device was unveiled at a special event in Lalitpur.
The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion features a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-710 camera, moto AI, a 7,000mAh battery and 68W TurboPower charging, according to the company. The device also includes a 144Hz 1.5K quad-curved display that reaches up to 5,200 nits of brightness and comes with a premium fabric finish and colours selected by Pantone. The smartphone will be available throughout Nepal from August 29 with a starting price set at Rs 69,999.
The launch programme was jointly conducted by Motorola’s country head Hari Om Mishra and Chaudhary Group vice-president S C Sabu. In partnership with the Nepali film Masterni, Motorola and the Chaudhary Group paired the smartphone launch with a special screening of the film; the cast and production team, including actress Priyanka Karki, also attended the programme. Dealers, retailers, influencers and various guests from across the country were present.
Motorola said it has been making its devices available in Nepal through the Chaudhary Group’s distribution network and has been providing extensive distribution and service centre facilities alongside its sales operations.
Organised in collaboration with Masterni, the event adopted a different approach compared with traditional smartphone launches in Nepal by bringing cinema, entertainment and technology onto a single platform, an arrangement being viewed as a novel experience.
Given the features offered at this price, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion appears to be an attractive option among competing smartphones in its category.
