KATHMANDU: Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and Brihatpreneurs have signed a two-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, business expansion and investment across Nepal.

The agreement was signed by NCC Infrastructure and Land Reform Committee Chairperson Roshan Bhoyadhyo and Brihatpreneurs founder and Brihat Group CEO Deden Lama Rajbhandary, NCC said in a press statement on Tuesday. The two organisations will host joint programmes nationwide to support startups and new enterprises, expand business networks, provide mentorship, build capacity and create investment opportunities.

NCC will lead public awareness and outreach activities targeting entrepreneurs and businesspeople in five locations, and will organise a special entrepreneurship programme during the ninth Nepal Land, Housing and Construction Expo. Meanwhile, Brihatpreneurs will deliver orientation sessions, business development training, business clinics, incubation, mentorship, networking and venture support, and will offer membership, partnership, co-working facilities and business expansion opportunities.

Both organisations aim to hold at least six entrepreneurship and networking events over the two years, engaging more than 300 entrepreneurs, startups and businesspeople. The agreement also includes collaboration with NCC’s Youth Committee.

NCC President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal said the collaboration will contribute to entrepreneurship development, investment promotion and private sector empowerment, and praised Brihatpreneurs’ effort to connect entrepreneurs, innovators, startups and investors on a common platform as timely.

Dr Om Rajbhandary, founder of Brihatpreneurs and executive chairman of Brihat Group, said emphasis must be placed on action as well as ideas, stating, "not just ideas, but implementation." He added that Brihatpreneurs has been built as a venture-building ecosystem linking entrepreneurs, experts, businesses and investors, and that the initiative aims to help create sustainable, scalable businesses through collaboration, structure, guidance and shared resources.

Also present at the signing ceremony were NCC Vice President Deepak Shrestha and Youth Committee Chairperson Dipesh Ratna Tuladhar.
