KATHMANDU: The 26th National General Convention of the Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI) opened in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, today, with more than 1,000 representatives in attendance.
FNCSI said the gathering will review past policies and action plans, identify organisational challenges, amend the Statute and prepare programmes and strategic plans to respond to a changing economic environment.
The convention will conclude with the election of a new leadership, according to Mohan Katuwal, coordinator of the general convention management committee.
Addressing the inaugural session, Mukunda Prasad Niraula, Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, stressed the need to reinforce public‑private partnership models and create more jobs, and urged blending traditional skills with advanced technology to promote entrepreneurs.
