Huawei launches FusionSolar9.0, LUTERRA Utility Grid Forming ESS in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Huawei has launched its latest FusionSolar9.0 Smart PV Solution and LUTERRA Utility Grid Forming ESS in Nepal. The launch underlines its long-term commitment to supporting the country’s transition towards clean, reliable and sustainable energy.

The technologies were jointly unveiled at an event under the theme 'Step into the All-Scenario Grid-Forming Era'. The ceremony was led by Birendra Raj Pandey, President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI); Yu Jianlong, Director of Huawei Digital Power South Asia Region; Chester Chen, CEO of Huawei Nepal; and Rohit Chandra Shah, Director of Huawei Nepal Digital Power. Government representatives, energy developers, industry leaders, business partners and local renewable energy stakeholders attended the event.

Huawei said the digital power solutions are intended to improve grid reliability, maximise the efficient use of solar energy and support national energy security goals as Nepal expands renewable generation and strengthens its power infrastructure.

FusionSolar9.0 is a utility-scale solar power solution that combines intelligent digital technologies with solar generation to boost operational efficiency and clean energy output. The LUTERRA Utility Grid Forming ESS is an advanced battery energy storage system designed to store renewable energy, balance supply and demand and enhance national grid stability. Huawei said the two systems together offer an integrated approach for utilities and developers to build more resilient and efficient energy infrastructure.
