KATHMANDU: Nepal‑India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), European Economic Chamber (EEC Nepal) and Bosch jointly held an executive workshop in Kathmandu on Friday. The event, titled 'AI for Decision Makers – An Executive Workshop for Leaders', brought together business executives, senior leaders, entrepreneurs and policymakers to explore practical uses of artificial intelligence (AI).
Bosch, acting as technology partner, launched a new publication at the opening session titled 'From Hype to Strategy – AI for Decision Makers'. The launch was attended by Ambassador of the European Union to Nepal, Veronique Lorenzo, and Ambassador of Germany to Nepal, Udo Eugen Volz.
Guru Prasad Mudlapur, President of Bosch Group India and Managing Director of Bosch, said, “In today's context, access to advanced AI technology has become easily accessible to everyone. Now, the real difference is determined by strategic execution and capable leadership. True transformation becomes possible when organizations move beyond basic automation and combine AI with their specific domain expertise, human judgment, and deep customer trust. The decisions made today by regional leadership for organisational capacity building will determine their competitive strength for many years to come.”
In a fireside chat, Prof Dr Sudan Jha, member of the National Planning Commission, outlined the evolution of AI, its potential role in national development, practical steps for adoption within Nepal, and ongoing government initiatives to incorporate AI into public policies and development programmes.
Sandeep Kamat, Country Head of Bosch for Nepal, said, “AI is no longer just a concept of the future; it has become an indispensable necessity for business. The objective of this workshop is to provide practical knowledge to the leadership level on how to adopt AI responsibly and transform it into measurable value for their organisation.”
Dr Caleb Munigeti, Head of Enterprise – AI at Bosch India, led the main training session, using operational examples and Bosch experience to cover enterprise AI trends, high‑impact opportunities, investment strategies, large language models, AI governance and implementation roadmaps. Participants took part in interactive exercises designed to help integrate AI into long‑term commercial planning.
