Midea signs five-year strategic partnership with FC Barcelona

KATHMANDU: Global home appliance and technology company Midea and FC Barcelona have officially launched a five-year strategic partnership running through the 2030/31 season, designating Midea as the club's Main Partner and Official Home Appliances Partner starting in the 2026/27 season.

The agreement, which officially came into effect on July 1, 2026, features Midea's logo on the left sleeve of FC Barcelona's men's first-team matchday and training shirts. The logo appeared for the first time on the club's newly released home shirt for the 2026/27 season, presenting the team's traditional blue and deep red identity in a modern form while reflecting its history, energy, and vision for the future.

Beyond shirt logo presence, the five-season partnership includes joint content creation, matchday communications, fan engagement, and market-tailored activities worldwide. Midea stated that bringing together sporting excellence, technological innovation, and modern lifestyle is the primary objective of the collaboration.

FC Barcelona's First-Vice President Rafael Yuste stated that Midea's commitment to smart home solutions, research, and innovation aligns with Barcelona's forward-looking vision. Meanwhile, President of Midea International Business Luis Fu expressed that long-term collaboration with one of the world's most successful and popular sports institutions is exciting.

The venture also creates new opportunities to connect with football supporters in Nepal, where FC Barcelona maintains a large fan base. Nepali supporters will see Midea's presence on the club's match and training kits, strengthening the brand's global identity and building its reputation among Nepali consumers as a brand associated with a modern lifestyle.
