NEPALGUNJ: Buddha Air has announced it will resume flights between Nepalgunj and Pokhara from September 16, ending a suspension that began about four months ago.
The airline said services on the Nepalgunj-Pokhara route will operate three times a week, on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Station Manager Binit Bikram Shah said the decision followed growing demand from passengers.
The route provides a convenient link for visitors from neighbouring Indian districts of Uttar Pradesh to the lakeside city of Pokhara, a major tourist destination. Flights were halted amid rising fuel costs and a fall in the number of Indian pilgrims earlier this year, the airline added.
Recent weeks have seen an increase in religious tourists, prompting renewed demand for air services on the route. Local tourism groups welcomed the resumption, saying it should help boost visitor numbers to both cities.
