KATHMANDU: The Council of Ministers has appointed Parbat Kumar Karki as Executive Director of the Citizen Investment Trust (CIT). The Cabinet meeting on Wednesday selected Karki, a permanent resident of Udayapur, in accordance with subsection 1 of section 42 of the Citizen Investment Trust Act, 2047 (1991).
Karki is a retired Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and previously served as the CIT’s Executive Director after being selected through an open competition on January 17, 2024.
He has also served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Grameen Bikas Bank and Sana Kisan Bikas Laghubitta Bittiyasanstha.
Karki holds a Master of Banking and Finance (MBF) from Griffith University in Australia and a postgraduate degree in management from Tribhuvan University (TU). He has completed international training in central banking, financial stability and financial market analysis.
