JANAKPUR: Jagdamba Motors, the authorised distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, inaugurated its 10th nationwide showroom in Janakpur alongside the launch of the all-new Proton e.MAS 5. The company introduced the model as the brand’s second electric vehicle in Nepal, aimed at making urban lifestyles and daily commutes more effortless, smart and modern.
Recently awarded the title of 'Electric Compact Vehicle of the Year 2026' at the Allianz DSF Vehicle of the Year Awards 2026 in Malaysia, the Proton e.MAS 5 combines cutting-edge technology, smart features and intelligent design. The vehicle includes a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For storage, it offers a 70-litre front trunk (frunk), an expandable 375-litre rear luggage space and 32 compartments to accommodate both daily city driving and long-distance travel.

The dual inauguration and launch ceremony was attended by local dignitaries, including the Deputy Mayor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, Kishori Sah, together with key business partners, media representatives and auto journalists. The strong turnout reflected growing demand for electric mobility and increasing confidence in sustainable transport across Janakpur and the surrounding regions.

The regional launch campaign, which kicked off in Bhaktapur and travelled through Dhangadhi to Janakpur, will reach another major milestone with tomorrow’s event in Birgunj. The Proton e.MAS 5 is available in two variants: Prime and Premium. To mark the regional launch, Jagdamba Motors announced a special introductory starting price of Rs 3.29 million for the Prime variant and Rs 3.69 million for the Premium variant.
Prospective buyers can visit the new Janakpur showroom to view the vehicle first-hand, schedule a test drive and speak with specialists about the vehicle’s smart features, design and overall driving dynamics. The opening represented another step in Jagdamba Motors’ nationwide expansion to increase access to electric vehicles across regional markets in Nepal.
