KATHMANDU: Golchha Group has donated Rs 15 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support ongoing rescue, relief and humanitarian operations after severe flooding in Rasuwa and surrounding areas.

The donation was announced on social media by Shekhar Golchha, chairman and managing director of Golchha Group and former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

“To support the ongoing rescue, relief and humanitarian efforts for those affected by the floods, Golchha Group is contributing Rs 1.5 crore to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund," Golchha wrote in his statement, adding that the private sector should do whatever is possible to assist recovery efforts throughout this difficult period.

He said pictures and video footage emerging from the flood-affected areas were deeply heartbreaking, offered condolences to bereaved families and expressed solidarity with those awaiting news of missing relatives.

Stressing the urgency of the situation, Golchha said supporting emergency rescue teams and standing alongside affected communities remains the immediate priority, and he urged private enterprises across the country to unite with government authorities to support citizens during the crisis.
