LALITPUR: Nepal Association for Software and IT Services Companies (NAS-IT) has elected a new nine-member board for a three-year term following its fourth annual general meeting (AGM).

The meeting was held in a limited capacity because of the devastating floods along the Bhotekoshi River. Proceedings began with a one-minute silence for those who lost their lives in the disaster. NAS-IT extended condolences to bereaved families and expressed solidarity with affected communities. Because of the disaster, NAS-IT cancelled other planned activities and proceeded only with formal and necessary business.

For the 2026-2027 term, Deepen Chapagain, country director at GuardSix Nepal, was elected president. Bibhushan Bista, executive president of Young Innovations, was elected vice president. Shreya Shrestha, general manager of Alaya Nepal, was elected general secretary, and Sagar KC, chief executive officer of Jasper IT, was elected treasurer.

The new board plans to work closely with member companies, the government, universities and other educational institutions, development partners and international organisations, with a key focus on strengthening the domestic technology sector and helping Nepali technology firms access international markets.

NAS-IT is a non-profit organisation representing software and IT services companies in Nepal. It focuses on policy work, industry development, talent development, international market access and collaboration to reinforce the nation’s technology sector, and aims to help establish Nepal as a trusted global technology hub.
