KATHMANDU: Embark College has announced Rs 27 million scholarship programme to support the higher education of students from families affected by recent floods in the Bhotekoshi region.

The initiative will provide full scholarships to four students annually for five years, benefiting 20 students enrolled in the college’s MBA and BSc Business Management programmes.

Embark College Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Asish Thakur said the funding aims to ensure that the natural disaster does not hinder students’ access to higher education.

“The government’s scholarship initiative for school-level students affected by the floods is an important step. Embark College has decided to support this initiative by extending full scholarships at the higher education level. Continued educational support is essential to securing the future of students from affected families,” Thakur said.

The commitment builds on the government’s recent scheme to provide scholarships to school-level students from flood-affected families by extending support to the university level.

The college has also deposited Rs 677,008 in the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts in affected communities. The contribution was collected from the institution, its employees and students.

The college reiterated its commitment to education and social responsibility while supporting communities during times of crisis.
