KATHMANDU: Mobile Phone Importers Association (MPI) Nepal has provided Rs 3.1 million to support relief, rescue and rehabilitation for people affected by floods and landslides along the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on August 26.

The sum, collected from MPI member organisations, was handed to Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle on Thursday and transferred to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to assist those who lost homes, property and livelihoods in the disaster.

MPI Nepal President Deepak Kumar Malhotra, Vice President Sanjay Agrawal and other executive committee members attended the handover ceremony.

Malhotra said, “Everyone has a shared responsibility to stand with citizens affected by such difficult situations.” He thanked member organisations for their contributions and expressed hope the support will help those who suffered significant losses.
