Xiaomi launches REDMI Note 17 Series in Nepal with up to 10,000mAh battery

KATHMANDU: Xiaomi has launched the REDMI Note 17 Series in Nepal, introducing smartphone models equipped with high-capacity batteries and heavy-duty performance. 

The new collection comprises the REDMI Note 17, REDMI Note 17 5G, REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, and REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G. According to the company, these long-lasting batteries aim to minimise the need to carry a charger throughout the day.

Official pricing in Nepal starts at Rs 42,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant of the REDMI Note 17, rising to Rs 47,999 for the 8GB+256GB option. The REDMI Note 17 5G is priced at Rs 47,999 for 6GB+128GB and Rs 52,999 for 8GB+256GB. For the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, the 8GB+256GB variant costs Rs 57,999, and the 12GB+512GB variant is priced at Rs 64,999. The top-tier REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is priced at Rs 69,999 for 8GB+256GB and Rs 79,999 for 12GB+512GB.

Customers buying any phone in the REDMI Note Pro Series will receive complimentary REDMI Buds 6 Play valued at Rs 2,499. This promotional offer remains available from the launch date through the end of September. Additionally, buyers can access 0% EMI financing from authorised dealers across Nepal upon producing citizenship documentation after paying an initial down payment.

The REDMI Note 17 and Note 17 5G carry a 7,700mAh battery that supports 45W Turbo Charging. The Note 17 Pro 5G features an 8,340mAh battery supported by 67W HyperCharge technology, whilst the Note 17 Pro Max 5G contains a 10,000mAh battery with 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse charging. Xiaomi claims the 10,000mAh capacity provides up to 72 hours of operation on a single charge, and that a 20-minute charge offers enough power for a full day of use. The series incorporates the REDMI Titan Battery System, designed to enhance battery lifespan and energy management.

Regarding durability and internal hardware, the Pro models feature the REDMI Titan Structure with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for protection against water and dust. The REDMI Note 17 and Note 17 5G carry IP65-rated protection. Processing across the line-up is provided by Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2, and Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipsets depending on the specific model.

Display specifications vary across the range. The Pro models feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. In contrast, the REDMI Note 17 and Note 17 5G carry a 6.99-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen.

For photography, the Note 17 and Note 17 5G include a 50MP main camera paired with a 16MP front camera. The Note 17 Pro 5G offers a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front camera. The flagship Note 17 Pro Max 5G combines a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front sensor.

The smartphones are offered in several colour choices. Celestial Purple, Sky Teal, and Black are available for the REDMI Note 17 and Note 17 5G. The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G comes in Sky Blue, Satin Orange, Purple, and Black, while the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is supplied in Cloud Blush, Green, Purple, and Black.

Xiaomi Corporation, founded in April 2010 and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on July 9, 2018 (1810.HK), operates with a stated vision to 'Make friends with users and be the coolest company in the users' hearts'. In December 2025, its global monthly active users reached 754.1 million. The company's connected AIoT platform reached 1,079.2 million devices as of December 31, 2025. Following its strategy upgrade to 'Human × Car × Home' in October 2023, Xiaomi achieved profitability in its smart electric vehicle business within six quarters of starting deliveries, delivering over 600,000 units by February 2026. The firm was included in the Fortune Global 500 list for the eighth consecutive year in July 2026, ranking 232nd.
