Xiaomi Nepal donates Rs 2 million to Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund for Rasuwa flood relief

KATHMANDU: Xiaomi Nepal has provided Rs 2 million to support relief, rescue and rehabilitation for people affected by severe floods and landslides in Rasuwa. The floods and landslides were caused by the Bhotekoshi River on August 26.

The funds will be deposited into the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to offer immediate aid to the affected communities. A cheque for the amount was handed to Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle by a delegation from Xiaomi Nepal comprising Sanjay Agrawal, Executive Director of Ramesh Corp; Nitesh Kumar Mundra, Director of Vatsal Impex; and Dinesh Rai, Sales and Distribution Head of Xiaomi Nepal.

The recent disaster caused significant loss of life and property across several areas, leaving many families in distress.

At the handover ceremony, the representatives expressed sympathy to the affected families and affirmed their commitment to supporting the government’s ongoing relief efforts.

A company representative said the financial contribution reflects their belief that standing with affected communities during such difficult times is a shared responsibility. The company expressed hope that the gesture, which forms part of a broader humanitarian commitment, will strengthen the ongoing rescue and relief operations.

Guided by its pledge 'Together with Nepal, For Nepal,' Xiaomi Nepal reiterated its dedication to standing by the Nepali community through both prosperity and adversity and pledged to continue its social responsibility initiatives when required.
