KATHMANDU: Oppo has launched the Reno16 series in Nepal, introducing two models: the Reno16 5G at Rs 109,999 and the Reno16 F 5G at Rs 89,999. Both handsets are being sold in ‘Pop White’ and ‘Twilight Violet’ through authorised retail channels nationwide.
The company also unveiled the magnetic companion device ‘Oppo Bubble’, which serves as a rear-camera preview screen and remote shutter with a customisable display. The Bubble is available at a promotional price of Rs 9,999, reduced from its standard retail price of Rs 15,999.
As part of launch promotions, Oppo is offering a complete phone replacement scheme, a two-month extended after-sales warranty for devices deemed unrepairable, and a complimentary pair of ‘Oppo Enco Buds3 Pro’ for the first 500 buyers.
The Reno16 series adopts a ‘3D Pop Planet’ design language. The ‘Pop White’ finish incorporates Oppo’s HoloVerse 3D technology to create a floating visual effect. The standard Reno16 has a 6.32-inch display, while the Reno16 F features a larger 6.57-inch screen.
Both models include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide selfie camera with a 100° field of view. The triple rear-camera array offers optical image stabilisation, an ultra-wide lens and a telephoto portrait lens with roughly 3.5x optical zoom. Imaging and video tools include Pop Cam, AI Remix Collage, Popout Collage 2.0, 4K Auto Straighten Video and Dual View Video 2.0.
The phones run ColorOS 16 and introduce several artificial intelligence features, including AI Snap Key, AI Mind Space, AI Mind Pilot, and AI Menu Translation. The Reno16 runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform. Battery capacities are 6,700mAh for the Reno16 and 7,000mAh for the Reno16 F, both supporting 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.
Other features highlighted by Oppo include AI LinkBoost 4.0 for connectivity, IP68, IP69 and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings, and Splash Touch and Glove Touch functionality.
Oppo staged the Nepal launch as a fashion show in Kathmandu, blending mobile technology with contemporary lifestyle elements. The presentation featured public figures including Miss Nepal World 2022 Priyanka Rani Joshi, GadgetByte Nepal chief executive Pratima Adhikari and motoring vlogger Surakshya KC, who demonstrated the devices in active, real-world scenarios.
