Two-way traffic resumes on Tribhuvan, Kanti highways

HETAUDA: Regular two-way vehicular traffic along the Tribhuvan and Kanti highways, which connect Hetauda to Kathmandu, has fully resumed from Friday following the reopening of the Prithvi highway.

Santosh Subedi, Administrative Officer of the District Administration Office in Makawanpur, shared that both highways returned to normal operation after vehicular movement at the Krishnabhir section in Dhading district was brought back into operation. Traffic on the Prithvi Highway was previously disrupted after the road collapsed at Krishnabhir.

Subedi added that both highways have been reopened for regular two-way vehicular movement today once traffic through the Krishnabhir section was restored.

To keep vehicular movement easy, safe, and systematic after the road disruption at Krishnabhir, an arrangement was introduced on September 1 requiring goods-carrier vehicles and large vehicles to use the Tribhuvan highway to reach Kathmandu and the Kanti highway when returning from Kathmandu.

The Tribhuvan Highway connects Hetauda to Kathmandu via Palung-Naubise, while the Kanti Highway links Hetauda to Kathmandu via Tikabhairav-Lalitpur.
