Ncell, NATO sign agreement to boost mobile connectivity for tourists

KATHMANDU: Ncell and the Nepal Association of Tour Operators (NATO) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to improve mobile connectivity for international tourists visiting Nepal.

Ncell Chief Consumer Business Officer Upanga Dutta and NATO President Bishwesh Shrestha signed the MoU on Thursday at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

Under the partnership, Ncell will provide mobile connectivity to foreign visitors travelling across the country, enabling them to remain in contact with family and friends. NATO will use its network of travel operators to inform international travellers about Ncell’s connectivity services.

In addition to telecommunications support, Ncell will assist NATO in developing modern Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) infrastructure along major highway routes through its corporate social responsibility arm, the Ncell Foundation. The initiative will begin with a pilot project in Gajuri, Dhading, to address sanitation needs for travellers and local communities along major transport corridors.
