ICAN conducts first overseas CA membership test in Dubai

KATHMANDU: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) has successfully administered its Chartered Accountant membership test in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, marking the establishment of its first international testing facility. The assessments took place on September 18 and 20.

The overseas facility was launched to help Nepali accounting professionals living and working abroad, giving them greater access to the institute's membership procedures. The organisation stated that this development addresses the shifting needs of a growing global community of Nepali accountants.

To uphold the integrity and standards of the membership process, the tests were held simultaneously in Nepal and Dubai on the same dates and times. This concurrent scheduling ensured complete uniformity in administration.

Operating successfully in Dubai signifies a major advancement in the modernisation and international outreach of ICAN's professional services. It highlights a commitment to broadening service delivery beyond Nepal while strictly preserving confidentiality, integrity and administrative standards.

The establishment of the Dubai centre represents a pivotal step in making professional and membership services more accessible to Nepali accountants abroad, further strengthening the international presence of the institute.

The ICAN expressed gratitude to the Indian High School in Dubai for supplying the venue and facilities, acknowledging their cooperation in the successful initiative. Appreciation was also directed towards the Dubai chapter of ICAN, as well as the officials, personnel and stakeholders who managed the planning and coordination.
