KATHMANDU: The global mobility and delivery platform inDrive is helping its driver partners in Nepal improve their daily financial management through a newly introduced educational programme. Over 2,500 drivers have already completed the first module of the course, titled 'Your Finances: Guide to Money Confidence.'

Available through the driver academy section on the inDrive app, the four-module course addresses the practical financial realities of gig workers who manage fluctuating daily incomes. It integrates straightforward financial education with tools that allow drivers to apply what they learn directly to their personal situations.

The curriculum focuses on managing budgets, achieving financial goals, borrowing safely, and maximising income through the app. Drivers learn how to track their spending, understand why their earnings might deplete quickly, set realistic savings targets, build emergency funds, and evaluate their capacity to take on debt responsibly. Each module includes an interactive task or calculator for personalised financial planning.

Sunita Jeemi Rai, senior driver operations specialist at inDrive Nepal, noted the importance of equipping drivers with accessible financial tools.

“Driver partners manage different financial responsibilities every day, while their income can often vary depending on when and how they work. Through ‘Your Finances: Guide to Money Confidence,’ we want to make financial learning simple, practical and accessible within the inDrive app. The course gives drivers useful tools to understand their budget, plan their savings, think carefully before borrowing and make more informed decisions about their earnings,” she said.

Drivers completing the modules have praised the straightforward approach of the initiative.

“This course gave me practical knowledge about saving, budgeting and managing money. It was simple, useful and easy to follow. Since taking it, I’ve started tracking my daily expenses, planning my budget and saving regularly,” shared one participating driver.

Operating in over 1,200 cities across 48 countries, inDrive continues to offer this financial literacy initiative through its platform. The company is encouraging further participation among its driver network in Nepal as part of its broader commitment to supporting local communities and promoting long-term financial stability beyond individual rides.
