Department of Commerce fines STC Rs 3 lakh for unfair trade practices
KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has imposed a fine of Rs 300,000 on the Salt Trading Corporation (STC) for engaging in unfair and fraudulent trade practices.
The department stated that the corporation was penalised for breaching Section 38 (E) of the Consumer Protection Act.
The STC has received written notice, issued in the name of Prajwalman Pradhan, to pay the fine within a week.
