Global IME Bank approves 10 pc dividend, reports Rs 6.04bn net profit at 20th AGM

KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank approved 10% dividend for its shareholders at its 20th annual general meeting (AGM) in Kathmandu on Friday. The total payout from the profits of the fiscal year 2025/26 comprises 4% bonus share and 6% cash dividend, which includes necessary tax provisions.

The decision follows a financial review showing the bank achieved net profit of Rs 6.04 billion, marking a 15.90% increase compared to the previous fiscal year. Operating profit stood at Rs 9.6 billion. Following the distribution of the approved bonus shares, the bank's paid-up capital has reached Rs 39.686 billion.

The AGM endorsed the annual report and consolidated financial statements presented by the bank's chairman, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, on behalf of the board of directors.

Addressing the gathering of shareholders, institutional investors, regulators, and mediapersons, Chairman Dhakal expressed his gratitude for the continuous trust placed in the institution.

"The bank is able to successfully complete its glorious two-decade journey due to the support and cooperation of the customers, shareholders, regulatory bodies, and all well-wishers," he stated.

Dhakal pledged to expand the bank's operations further in a secure, reliable, and balanced manner while fully complying with the policies and directives of the Government of Nepal and Nepal Rastra Bank. He also announced that additional investments will be directed into the digital banking system to provide more convenient and state-of-the-art services to customers.

During the proceedings, the AGM unanimously authorised the board of directors to amend the bank's memorandum and articles of association as necessary, and appointed an auditor for the upcoming fiscal year.

In a recent corporate social responsibility (CR) initiative, Global IME Bank contributed Rs 57.592 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund for the immediate rescue and relief of victims affected by the recent floods in Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers. This donation included an amount equal to one day's salary from the bank's employees.

Global IME Bank is the first private sector commercial bank to establish a footprint in all 77 districts of Nepal. It currently operates a network of over 1,000 service centres, which includes 341 branches, 366 ATMs, 147 branchless banking centres, 69 extension and revenue collection counters, and three foreign representative offices.
