SUDURPASHCHIM: Sudurpaschim Province Government has unveiled its budget for fiscal year 2026/27.
Minister for Economic Affairs Chakra Bahadur Malla presented a budget totalling Rs 37.7 billion at a meeting of the Provincial Assembly on Monday.
The budget keeps the overall size unchanged from the proposal put forward by the previous administration and anticipates Rs 1.72 billion from internal revenue mobilisation and Rs 10.2 billion from revenue sharing with the federal government.
The package follows the withdrawal of the Appropriation Bill and Finance Bill that had been tabled in the Assembly on June 15 by the former government. The earlier budget could not be passed after a change in the ruling coalition.
A new government led by Nepali Communist Party leader Khagaraj Bhatta, with support from CPN (UML), was formed on July 13.
