KATHMANDU: Nepal Nightlife Entertainment Business Association, Thamel, has delivered food supplies and cash assistance to people displaced by the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa.

The association handed over Rs 500,051 in cash and essential food items to displaced residents sheltering at Mustang Gumba in Swoyambhu, Kathmandu. The group moved to the monastery after the floods on August 26.

The donation was presented on Monday by Rupesh Gurung, president of the association, to Kippa Nagarkoti, acting ward chairperson of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality‑2 in Rasuwa. More than 300 people from 155 families from Rasuwa are currently taking refuge at the monastery.

Coordinator Prakash Shrestha said the relief package comprised Rs 500,000 in cash, 12 sacks of rice, three sacks of lentils, a sack of beaten rice, 30 cartons of instant noodles and sanitary pads for women. The items were distributed to affected residents from both Rasuwa and Nuwakot.

Association President Gurung said the initiative was intended to help families who lost homes, food stocks and everyday essentials in the floods, and to ease their immediate difficulties.

The formal handover was attended by association advisers Karma Ghale and Shree Shahi, Secretary Sabu Tamang and Treasurer Ramesh Kumar Shrestha.

The association said coordinated efforts by government agencies, non-governmental organisations, private businesses and local communities remain essential for long-term relief and rehabilitation across the flood‑affected areas.
