KATHMANDU: The 11th edition of Nepal International Trade Fair is set to take place in Kathmandu from December 3 to 7. The event aims to promote Nepal's international trade and will bring together participants from six South Asian countries.
The fair is being organised by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) with government support. Alongside Nepal, participants from China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Bhutan will take part in the event.
FNCCI said at a news conference in Kathmandu on Sunday that the fair aims to support the export of products identified as priorities under the Nepal Trade Integration Strategy, including cardamom, tea, ginger, handicrafts, pashmina, and medicinal and aromatic herbs.
More than 200 stalls will be set up at the fair to showcase domestic and international goods and services. Handicraft products and electric vehicles are expected to be among the main attractions. Discussions on bilateral trade promotion and investment will also be held during the event.
The FNCCI expects around 100,000 visitors during the five-day fair.
The fair is expected to attract foreign investment and technology to Nepal and contribute to the national economy by promoting Nepali products in international markets.
