Second Joint Working Group on Tourism Cooperation held between Nepal and India

The second meeting of the Joint Working Group (JWG) on tourism Cooperation between Nepal and India was held on July 6 in Kathmandu. The Nepalese delegation was led by Joint Secretaries of the Ministries of Tourism of respective countries Ghanashyam Upadhayay and Suman Billa. Both delegations discussed and shared views on the tourism sectors of their respective countries while acknowledging the potential of socio economic development through an integrated approach to tourism.  It was agreed that there are immense opportunities for cooperation in the sector and both countries stand to benefit through this cooperation. Areas of discussion included overland travel, leave travel concession, joint promotion of Buddhist and Ramayan circuits, adventure tourism and industry based human resource development.
