According to the Asian Development Outlook published by the Asian Development Bank, Nepal is projected to have the highest inflation rate in South Asia. It stands highest since the fiscal year 2012-13. The inflation rate is projected at 8.2 percent in 2016-17. The region average is 5.2 percent.
