KATHMANDU: The Department of Public Affairs of the United States Embassy in Nepal organised a Civic Engagement Project (CEP) Reception on August 10 at International Club, in Sanepa, Lalitpur.
The programme was held to honour the CEP grant winners from the United States Embassy Youth Council's class of 2023.
Garrett E Wilkerson, Public Affairs Chief, at the embassy, officially launched the programme. He welcomed guests from reputed organisations and congratulated all the grant recipients.
On the occasion, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between USYC CEP winners and USYC grantees.
Altogether, six projects won the grants each having a distinct category. Some projects dealt with education, some with the preservation of traditional practices, and others with financial empowerment, and good governance.
Experts in relevant areas provided a suitable networking platform and mentorship to the winners.
A group photo and a fruitful networking session marked the event's conclusion.
The members participated in conversation during the networking session to exchange useful suggestions for the project's implementation.
