Sanskriti International School opens Nepal’s first school-level fabrication lab

KATHMANDU: Sanskriti International School, a leading educational institution in Nepal, has opened 'Infinity FAB LAB', Nepal's first school-level fabrication laboratories, on its premises, at Halchowk, Kathmandu. [gallery link="file" size="full" columns="2" ids="38862,38863"] The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Craig Hansen, Academic Director of 3DI School, New Zealand, who marked the event as a significant milestone in the country's educational landscape. The inauguration was followed by a visit programme to showcase its newly inaugurated Fab Lab. Pramila Devi Bajracharya, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, was the chief guest at the event. Other guests included Maiya Laxmi Maharjan, Head of the Education Department from Ward 15, Sarmila Pokhrel, Resource Person at Gita Mata Resource Center, Ward No. 15 and representatives from Kathmandu University (KU) (notable school leaders and parents/guardians). On the occasion, Diptee Acharya, Director of Sanskriti International School, said, “We are delighted to announce that Sanskriti International School has successfully opened its first-of-its-kind FAB LAB. This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and providing our students with cutting-edge learning opportunities. We have established a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced technology and tools, where students can explore the realms of digital fabrication, 3D Printing, electronics, robotics and many more. The FAB LAB will serve as a hub of creative technology, enabling our students to unleash their potential, develop essential skills, and nurture their passion for invention and discovery.” [gallery columns="4" link="file" size="full" ids="38871,38870,38868,38858"] Fab Labs are state-of-the-art spaces that provide students with access to tools and technologies to explore the realms of digital fabrication, 3D printing, electronics and robotics among others.
