NMB Bank distributes 5,728 stoves improved under SNV’s project

KATHMANDU: NMB Bank has distributed 5,728 wood-burning stoves improved under Result Based Financing Project of SNV Netherlands Development Organisation. The bank in cooperation with SNV distributed the improved stoves in Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces with the objective of improving the living standard of people in the remote areas of the country. The bank has been involved in the management of funds for the project. NMB Bank has also been providing various services by cooperating with various other projects. This project is expected to assist in the conservation of forests by minimising the use of wood and the difficulties the women have to face in the kitchen. The improved stove that produces less smoke also decreases the chance of diseases caused by the smoke and dust. NMB Bank, the leading bank of Nepal for financing in the renewable energy sector, has been awarded the prestigious 'Bank of the Year Asia 2021' by ‘The Banker Magazine’ of The Financial Times, London.
