KATHMANDU: Angel Investors Network has been established with the aim to help startup enterprises in initial investment management, in Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Morang district.
At the Angel Investors' Meet organised by Chamber of Industries Morang (CIM) on June 22, 2023, Biratnagar Metropolitan City Mayor Nagesh Koirala, the organisation's President Rakesh Surana, Immediate Past President Suyash Pyakurel, Vice-President Nanda Kishor Rathi, Vice-President (Financial Sector) Raj Kumar Golchha, Vice-President (Agro/Hydro/Energy Sector) Bholeshwar Dulal, Vice-President (Employer SEctor) Bipin Kabra, board members Surendra Golchha, Birendra Rathi, Deepak Kumar Agrawal, Jayendra Sharma, Santosh Kumar Bhagat and Siddhartha Kabra committed to joining the network. Others who joined the network were Vivek Rathi, Manoj Adhikari, Sujeet Jha, Vinay Vishnu KC, Yukti Golchha, Raghav Koirala, Manoj Bikram Shah, Bikas Kumar Begwani, Ashok Wagdia and Roman Kattel.
CIM President Surana said that in the second session of the startup programme, which was in operation for the past two years, programmes such as marketing, boot camp, and Haat-Bazaar (semi-weekly open roof market) were held under the organisation's professional development services. He said Angel Investors' Meet was organised with the aim of facilitating the financial management of startups that were under the mentorship of CIM. The organisation will create a positive environment by encouraging startups — having business plans but still unable to start businesses due to lack of capital for investment — to invest, according to President Surana.
Biratnagar Metropolis Mayor Koirala committed to promoting the startup and innovation programme launched by CIM and including it in its annual programme in the future. He said the youths will be encouraged towards entrepreneurship development.
Surendra Golchha, Coordinator of the startup and innovation programme, informed that a committee was preparing a report in terms of investment modality and technical issues. He opined that the programme will add a different dimension to the development of youth entrepreneurship.
Mayor Koirala, CIM President Surana, Immediate Past President Pyakurel and Programme Coordinator Golchha unveiled the logo of Angel Investors Network.
The organisation's Executive Committee members, industrialists, bankers and chartered accountants participated in the programme.
The investors of the network were to choose among the 13 startups — who were set to pitch their business ideas in the second phase of the programme on June 26 — and invest in their businesses.
