KATHMANDU: Jagdamba Motors, the sole authorised distributor of TVS scooters in Nepal, has introduced a ‘Lifetime Battery Assurance’ for the TVS iQube electric scooter, reflecting the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable mobility in the country.

This industry-first approach in Nepal aims to address the most common concerns around battery life, battery warranty, and battery cost, which are limiting the mass adoption of electric scooters in Nepal.

With the Lifetime Battery Assurance, customers of the TVS iQube will be assured of a battery life of up to 70% SOH (state of health) for as long as they choose to remain subscribed to the Lifetime Battery Assurance programme.

The TVS iQube is available in two variants in Nepal — TVS iQube and TVS iQube S. Customers can purchase the TVS iQube at Rs 299,900 under the Lifetime Battery Assurance programme.

TVS iQube vehicles have covered a cumulative total of 411,000 kilometres in Nepal, saving 10,275 litres of fuel and preventing 23,762kg of CO2 emissions. Globally, 300,000 satisfied TVS iQube customers have covered 1.9 billion kilometres, saving 47 million litres of fuel and preventing 69,590 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Commenting on the launch, Akhil Gupta, Executive Director of Jagdamba Motors, said, "We are excited to bring this industry-first and game-changing initiative for EV scooters to Nepal. We are confident that with a Lifetime Battery Assurance, EV adoption in the scooter market of Nepal will increase significantly. Customers of the TVS iQube under the Lifetime Battery Assurance Programme can save Rs 135,000 on fuel and maintenance compared to a petrol scooter over five years, and also become proud owners of the TVS iQube at an acquisition cost similar to a petrol scooter. This saving will increase further with a rise in petrol prices. Each TVS iQube customer reduces Nepal's petrol consumption by 300 litres per year and reduces CO2 emissions by 690kg per year, which is great for a country like Nepal that imports petrol and thrives on tourism."

The TVS iQube offers customers best-in-class comfort with a premium silent riding experience and is available across 33 dealers in Nepal. Customers can find out more about the product and the Lifetime Battery Assurance programme by visiting the website.
