
BIRATNAGAR: Preparations have been completed for the Koshi Province Investment Summit 2025, which will be hosted by the provincial government.
This was announced at a press conference organised by the Province Investment Authority in Biratnagar Metropolitan City today.
The summit will be held at Birendra Auditorium in Biratnagar, with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli scheduled to inaugurate the event on Thursday. It will conclude the following day. The organisers expect the conference to be a historic and productive event for the prosperity and development of Koshi Province, which has significant investment potential.
Executive Director of the Province Investment Authority, Dr Saroj Koirala, stated that 71 projects will be showcased at the summit, with a total estimated cost of Rs 173.49 billion. These projects cover the tourism, agriculture, industry, energy, infrastructure, IT, and service sectors. Investors from Nepal, India, China, Russia, the US, South Korea, and other Western countries will participate.

Dr Koirala also said that discussions at the summit will focus on six key topics: agriculture, tourism, industrial production, marketing, infrastructure development, energy, health services, and medical education.
Similarly, Provincial Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Rewati Raman Bhandari, stated that the Investment Summit will help create employment opportunities and boost domestic capital in the province. He also expressed a commitment to amending laws that hinder investment.
Likewise, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Ram Bahadur Magar, stated that the summit would contribute to strengthening the province’s economy, creating jobs, and developing key sectors to attract tourists and increase production.
