Gold price climbs to Rs 283,200 per tola; silver reaches Rs 3,980 in domestic market

KATHMANDU: Fine gold in the domestic market increased to Rs 283,200 per tola today, while silver is priced at Rs 3,980 per tola, according to Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FENEGOSIDA). One tola is equivalent to 11.66 grams.

Gold prices continued to rise in recent trading sessions. Fine gold traded at Rs 278,500 per tola on Sunday, Rs 281,500 per tola on Monday and Rs 282,300 per tola on Tuesday.

Silver prices also fluctuated during the period. Silver traded at Rs 3,955 per tola on Sunday, rose to Rs 3,995 per tola on Monday, fell to Rs 3,970 per tola on Tuesday and reached Rs 3,980 per tola on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, on October 18, fine gold traded at Rs 290,200 per tola, while silver stood at Rs 4,185 per tola. Those rates followed a period of about one week during which domestic bullion prices remained unchanged because of the Dashain festival holidays.
