
KATHMANDU: SPG Automobiles, the authorised distributor for Omoda and Jaecoo, sub-brands of Chery Automobile Co in Nepal, has been honoured with the 'EV Pioneer Award' at the 2025 Chery International Global Dealer Conference.
The event was held at the Yijiu International Expo Center in Wuhu, Anhui Province, China, home to Chery’s headquarters and main production base. The award was presented by Xu Hui, Vice President of Chery Holding Group Co, to Gaurav Sharda, Director of SPG Automobiles.
The global summit brought together over 3,000 dealers from more than 120 countries, providing a platform to celebrate achievements and exchange strategic insights. The event was attended by high-level dignitaries, including leaders of Wuhu Municipal Government, Yin Tongyue, CEO of Chery International, and Zhang Guibing, General Manager of Chery International.
The EV Pioneer Award was presented in recognition of SPG Automobiles’ market performance and its role in establishing Omoda and Jaecoo’s electric vehicle presence in Nepal. The recognition highlights the company’s commitment to promoting sustainable mobility and its expanding role in Nepal’s automotive sector.
Omoda and Jaecoo entered the Nepali market in 2024 with the launch of the Omoda E5 EV, followed by the introduction of the Jaecoo J6 at the NADA Auto Show 2024. Representing the two brands, SPG Automobiles reached a milestone in its first year by successfully selling over 800 units of Omoda and Jaecoo vehicles in Nepal.
