
MUSTANG: The number of foreign tourists visiting Mustang district has increased significantly in recent months.
As of April 2025, a total of 51,896 tourists arrived in Mustang district, according to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project Office in Jomsom.
Chief of the ACAP Office in Jomsom, Rajesh Gupta, stated that 8,745 visitors from SAARC member states and 43,151 visitors from other countries visited Mustang district in the first four months of 2025.
According to Gupta, number of visitors increased by 36.6% in the first four months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Last year, 37,974 foreign tourists had visited Mustang between January and April.
Hotelier Suraj Gurung said foreign tourists visit Mustang district, attracted by its natural, historical, religious, cultural and social beauty.
Additionally, tourists from India visit Mustang to pay homage at the sacred Muktinath Temple, a revered pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.
