44,763 tourists visit Annapurna region in April: ACAP

KATHMANDU: Annapurna Conservation Area has seen an increase in tourist arrivals during the second major tourist season. According to Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), a total of 44,763 foreign tourists visited the region in April.

This marks a rise of 10,852 compared to April 2024, when 33,911 tourists visited the area.

A significant number of visitors arrived between March and May, with trekking and religious tourism being key attractions. In March, the region welcomed 36,834 tourists, while February recorded 12,068, and January saw 9,359 arrivals.

The Annapurna Circuit remains a major draw for both domestic and international travellers, with popular destinations including Annapurna Base Camp, Mardi Himal, Sikles, Lwang, Ghandruk Village in Kaski, Tilicho Lake in Manang, Thorang La Pass, Upper Mustang, Muktinath, Ghodepani, and Poonhill in Myagdi, among others.

Spanning 7,629 square kilometres, the Annapurna Conservation Area covers 87 wards across 15 local levels in the districts of Kaski, Lamjung, Manang, Myagdi, and Mustang.
