
KATHMANDU: A meeting was held on Thursday between officials of Nepal Share Market Investors Association and Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), Choodamani Chapagain.
During the meeting, a formal letter was submitted on behalf of the association, outlining its establishment, objectives, future plans, and the need for dialogue and discussion to make the capital market systematic, dynamic, transparent, and multidimensional, contributing to economic development.
NEPSE CEO Chapagain provided an overview of the current market and stated that the association should play a role in strengthening the capital market. He wished them success in their efforts while keeping investor interests in mind and said he appreciated the association’s campaign to make investors capable and conscious.
The association's founding general secretary Rabin Kandel, senior vice president Kishor Poudel, secretary Bhuwan Dhakal, spokesperson Dhananjay Poudel, and members Mina Bhatta, Bibek Shrestha, and Sudarshan Gautam raised various issues related to the development of the capital market, investor rights and interests, and required reforms.
NEPSE secretary and information officer Murahari Parajuli conveyed congratulations and best wishes, stressing the need for collective efforts in strengthening the market.
The meeting has initiated collaboration towards strengthening the capital market in the interest of investors. The association and NEPSE are expected to continue efforts to make the market more reliable and prosperous.
