KATHMANDU: inDrive, the global mobility and urban services platform, has announced its support for a new Nepali documentary focused on women’s empowerment, social justice and community-driven change. The initiative aligns with inDrive’s core values of fairness, equity and uplifting local stories that inspire meaningful societal impact.
The documentary highlights the challenges and triumphs faced by women in Nepal, contributing to broader awareness of safety concerns and local activism. Through this project, inDrive aims to reinforce its mission to empower communities, champion equity and inspire action.
Beyond this documentary, inDrive has actively supported platforms celebrating creativity and technological innovation. Its Alternative Film Award recognises independent films that challenge norms and bring forward untold stories. The Alternativa Film Awards, recently held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, featured shortlisted films from Nepal.
Additionally, the Aurora Tech Award, a prestigious honour for women innovators in technology, reflects inDrive’s commitment to gender equity and social progress. These initiatives underscore the company’s role in fostering empowerment, innovation and community growth.
"As a platform built on the principles of challenging inequality, we are proud to support a documentary that vividly portrays the stories of Nepali women. Their resilience and fight for dignity deeply resonate with inDrive’s mission of fairness and equity," said Anton Ambrose, Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs Lead for inDrive in the Asia-Pacific region. "We encourage Nepali filmmakers to participate in the Alternativa Film Awards and female entrepreneurs to join the Aurora Tech Awards."
The documentary not only serves as a film but also as a testament to the significance of local storytelling and community-led initiatives. inDrive hopes to inspire greater awareness, dialogue and positive action within Nepal and beyond.
