NAIMA pledges Rs 5m to Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund for flood relief
KATHMANDU: Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has pledged Rs 5 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation for communities affected by flooding on the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.
The association expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and damage to property, offered condolences to bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured. NAIMA said its member companies have already assisted with financial contributions, transportation, logistics and other support since the disaster began.
NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya said, “Supporting the Government and affected citizens during times of disaster is a shared responsibility of the private sector. I sincerely thank all our member companies for their empathy, support, and readiness to contribute during this difficult time. Effective relief and rehabilitation can only be achieved through strong cooperation among the government, private sector, and communities.”
The association thanked government and security agencies, health professionals, rescue personnel, volunteers, local communities and organisations involved in search, rescue and relief operations, and urged stakeholders across the automobile and mobility sector to provide help according to their capacity and available resources.
