
KATHMANDU: The government has introduced a budget of Rs 1,964.11 billion for upcoming fiscal year 2025/26.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented the budget statement for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26 at a joint session of the Federal Parliament today.
"In the budget for upcoming fiscal year, Rs 1,180.98 billion or 60.1% has been allocated for recurrent expenditure, Rs 407.89 billion or 20.8% for capital expenditure, and Rs 375.24 billion or 19.1% for financial management," Finance Minister Paudel stated in the budget speech.
The budget prioritises entrepreneurship, employment, increased production and productivity, expanded investment in high-quality physical infrastructure that yields returns, qualitative improvements in the social sector, balanced development and assurance of social security, citizen-friendly services, corruption control, and governance reforms.
